The opening of Prescot's first Citizens Advice Bureau in 1942 was attended by several well-known local personalities. From the left Mr. W.A. Cross LLB.,the well known solicitor and last Coroner of the Manor of Prescot. Mr. R.A. Elliot, Chairman of the Advice Bureau. Mr. J. Brownbill, J.P., Chairman of the Council. Sir Hartley Shawcross K.C. Nort West Regional Commissioner. Miss Skellard, Miss Nora Whittaker. The premises were almost certainly in Kemble Street. The photograph was taken by K.G. Hunt.
