St Chad's Park, constructed in the 1960's. The church and gardens have kept much of their character thanks to the 7th and last Earl of Sefton. when he sold Kirkby to Liverpool Corporation in 1947, he insisted that no building should take place within 200 yards of the church, so that in the midst of the modern town, it retains some of its original rural setting. The area is known locally as St. Chad's Gardens but is also known as St. Chad's Park. It is a popular place for couples getting married in the church to have their wedding photographs taken.
